To create a great alternative healthy snack to be used for many occasions, try olive oil bread dipping. Bread, fresh vegetables, steamed or grilled vegetables can be dipped into a shallow dish of extra virgin olive oil. You can create many different unique flavor sensations by making different olive oil bread dipping sauces. Try adding ingredients such as cracked black pepper, lemon juice, basil or sun dried tomato pesto to your olive oil for bread dipping. Add your ingredient to the olive oil and let it rest for fifteen minutes. This allows the flavors to meld. What are some of your other taste preferences? Use your imagination and you can come up with many olive oil bread dipping sauces that are personalized to your own palate.

While we are calling these olive oil bread dipping sauces, these recipes can be used in a variety of ways. You can use them as bases for marinades, salad dressing and pasta sauces. We love drizzling our favorite olive oil bread dipping sauce over our freshly cut vegetables before putting them on the grill.

The only special ingredient you need for all these bread dipping delights is extra virgin oil. Why? There is special flavor magic to extra virgin oil that is not possible to obtain from “pure” olive oil. The extra cost is minimal when you get such magnificent taste results.

Cube or slice your bread, make your olive oil bread dipping marinade, and you have an instant appetizer that will make any occasion festive. Coordinate the main meal dishes by drizzling your bread dipping recipe over
any vegetable your will serve, and even cascade it over your meat as a marinade.

Why not make your favorite olive oil bread dipping recipes in bulk? Store these sauces in bottles, and then you are prepared for any instant need to serve food, whether it be for the kids when they come home from school, or unexpected visits from friends. Just open your pantry, pull out your bottle, pour into your bread dipping plate, bring out the bread, and you have an instant food appetizer.

Perhaps your stomach is sensitive, or you just prefer the simple taste bread dipping in olive oil, you can use the olive oil without any flavorings. Just keep a good bottle of extra virgin oil on hand and pour that into your
olive oil bread dipping dish. You can serve it with bread, vegetables, or even soft crackers.

Here’s a tip if you do want to flavor your bread dipping sauce quickly. Add whatever herbs or spices (think about fresh basil, and my new favorite cilantro) into the oil, place it into the microwave and heat for about 10 seconds. This can take the place of letting the oil stand for 15 minute to allow flavors to combine.

Fast, easy, healthy, versatile, olive oil bread dipping can please the palate on any occasion.
